William W. Willson, age 85 of Kasota, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at MCHS Mankato.
Memorial visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00pm Monday, January 7, 2019 at St. Peter Funeral Home. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
“Bill” was born on December 31, 1933 in Kasota to Grover and Bessie (Buckles) Willson. He was raised in Kasota and resided there until his passing. On November 9, 1952 he was united in marriage to Arlene Roemhildt. Bill worked for Babcock Company in Kasota until its closing and then National Poly in Mankato. He was on the Kasota Volunteer Fire Department for 28 years, coached girls slow pitch softball, was a Boy Scout Master, and led snowmobile safety training. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery and watching sports; especially the Vikings and Twins.
Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Arlene; children: Timothy (Chris), Terri (Andy) Pongratz, Amy (Duane) Owens, Michael (Katrina), Jeanne (Ken) Doebbeling and Donald (Tina); 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister Eva Butterfield; sisters-in-law: Joyce and Marion Willson, Vee Weiby and Carol and LaVera Roemhildt; many nieces and nephews; and a wonderful community and neighbors in Kasota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Ariel Joy Eaton-Willson; brothers: Dan, Warren, Lee, Bob and Wayne; and sisters: Rhoda and Dorothy.
