Sally Lynn Neary

Sally Lynn Neary, 57 of Saint Peter, died Friday, November 2, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – St. Marys Campus in Rochester.

Visitation will be held from 4-7pm,  Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Catholic Church of Saint Peter with a prayer service beginning at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am,  Friday, November 9, 2018 at church with visitation one hour prior.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Saint Peter. 

Sally was born July 27, 1961 in Arlington, MN to Frederick William and Dolores Gladys (Tessmer) Nagel. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1979 and was involved in basketball, track, softball, and cheerleading. Sally was a member of the Red Men Club Pocahontas.

Sally was united in marriage to Ronald Neary, Jr. on May 1, 1993. She was a devoted military wife through three deployments, totaling 3.5 years.


She liked spending time with her family and friends, singing karaoke, crafting, gardening, creating flower arrangements, and spoiling her cat.

She worked at Whiskey River, Taytronics, Hermies, Embassy Bar, Willy’s, Econo Foods, and Gustavus Adolphus College.

Sally is survived by her husband, Ron Neary of Saint Peter; daughter, Erin Neary of Minneapolis; mother, Dolores O’Neill of Le Sueur; siblings, Joe (Ruby) Nagel, Jane (Bob) Hoen, Wendy Weckworth, Tom Nagel, Steven Nagel, Brian Nagel, Tracey (Mike) Spellman, and Tony Nagel; mother-in-law, Betty Neary; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frederick Nagel; brother, Gary Nagel; and father-in-law, Ronald Neary, Sr.
