Clinton Peters, age 84 of St. Peter, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Catholic Church of St. Peter with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Clinton was born on December 1, 1933 in St. Peter to Elmer and Vera (Barnes) Peters. He was a lifelong resident of St. Peter and worked at the Minnesota Security Hospital in St. Peter for 37 years. He was a hard worker; was a mail person and janitorial sub for the St. Peter School district as well as owning a sod business from 1961 until 1997. He loved being at the lake home, fishing, planting trees, gardening, mowing lawn, deer hunting and playing cards or games; especially “Slippery Ace” with the youngest grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was proud that he lived at the same house from birth to death. Although he was plagued with many health issues over the years, he remained “sharp as a tack” and was making his own decision to the end.
Left to remember Clint are his wife of 63 years, Kathy; children: Becky (Charlie) Homer, Deb (Rick Zuti) Johnson, Mark (Sandy), Pam Tollefson, Paul (Vicky), John, Ray (Danita), Dave (Denise), Lisa (Bob) Schultz, Jim (Julie), and Bob (Kelsie); 21 grandchildren: Mike, Nick, Bill, Cyndi, Teresa, Jake, Gary, Jason, Billy, Brian, Brooke, Jessica, Jennie, Craig, Aaron, Corey, Isaak, Addyson, Elijah, Henry and Archer.; 20 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Mike (Judy) Trimbo; sister-in-law Pat Sullivan; and other relatives and friends: Don and Sandy Anderson and Harold and DeAnna Hoffmeister.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; sister-in-law, Rose Burg; brother-in-law John L. Sullivan; and 2 beautiful granddaughters: Lora and Sara Johnson.
