July 10, 1923 — July 24, 2018

Deloris (Pufpaff) Gesch passed away at Benedictine Living Community on July 24, 2018, at the age of 95.

Per Deloris’ request, a private family service will be held at the St. Peter Funeral Home, St. Peter, MN.  Private burial services will be at the German Lake Cemetery, Le Sueur County.

Deloris was born to Herman and Violet (Radke) Pufpaff.  She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1942.  Following graduation, Deloris and her sister, Janet traveled to California and worked for North American Aviation.  After the war, Deloris worked for Lockheed and Universal Studios.  Deloris lived in California over 40 years.

Deloris returned to Minnesota and met her high school sweetheart, Willis “Bud” Gesch and they married on May 21, 1983.

Hobbies were a wonderful past time for her.  She was an avid reader and made beautiful quilts which she shared with many.  Her love of traveling took her all over the world.  Give her a puzzle and she was in heaven for the challenge it imposed.

Deloris is survived by her son, D.J. Smetana (Susan) and their son, Kurt; daughter, Karen and her two children; nieces and nephews Dennis (Mel) Davis, Bonnie (Charles) Davis, Lowell Davis, Deanna Dunphy, Vicki Davis and Cheryl, Cindy Davis and Kathy, Carol (Steve) Robb, and special friends, Don and Pat Krenik.

Preceded in death are her husband Willis “Bud” Gesch, parents, brother Donald (Pufpaff) Collins, and sister Janet (Robert) Hughes;  sister-in-law, Leona Davis, Charlie Davis and Nancy Davis.

The family would like to thank Benedictine Living Community for their wonderful kindness and service to Deloris.  Thanks to Mankato Hospice for their great caring and support.
