Dixie Jean Clover was born December 14, 1933 in Johnston, Iowa to Asa and Dorothy (McKinney) Clover. She graduated from Johnston High School in 1952, where she was a star basketball player. Dixie married Milton Duckett in 1952 and they later divorced. Dixie moved to Texas in 1972; she first lived in the Rio Grand Valley and then San Antonio. She returned to Minnesota in 2004. Dixie loved sports, especially darts and basketball. She was in the San Antonio Dart League, and she traveled many places both domestically and internationally to play darts. In the 1970s, Dixie and a friend set the Texas World Record for shooting a score of a million and one. Dixie made amazing desserts: her chocolate cakes, Russian black cakes, and strawberry pies will always be fondly remembered.
