Ervin Donald Kaduce

Ervin Donald Kaduce passed away November 2, 2017, at the age of 99, at Benedictine Living Community of St. Peter, MN.

Ervin was born May 2, 1918 to Claus and Janette Kaduce on their family farm in Amboy, Minnesota.  He started farming his own farm at the age of 17.  Ervin married Verna Grupe on November 17, 1938 and they celebrated their 78th wedding anniversary last November.  They were the longest married couple in Minnesota.  They raised 6 children together.  Ervin and Verna enjoyed traveling, fishing, bowling and playing cards.   Ervin served many years on the school board, played horseshoe and enjoyed curling.  Ervin volunteered with the Sertoma, & Meals on Wheels, judging Science Fairs and also mowed the lawn for the Mapleton Senior Center.   Ervin and Verna attended many birthday celebrations and sporting and music events for grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ervin is survived by children, Myron (Doris) Kaduce of St. Peter, Betty (Fred) Porter of New Ulm, Richard (Kay) Kaduce of Eau Claire, Phyllis (Jody) McCoy of Colorado Springs, CO, and Karen (Larold) Peterson of Bethel; 24 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; and brother, Claus Jr (Jean) Kaduce of Amboy, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Verna on July 26, 2017; son, Larry in August 2015; granddaughter, Donna in February 2015; brothers, Edwin and Victor; sisters, Dena, Irene, Violet, and infant sister, Hilda; daughter-in-law, LaDonna Kaduce; and son-in-law, Wally Drill.

Services will be held Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 1114 West Traverse Road, St. Peter, MN.  Visitation will be before the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Beauford, MN the following morning at 10:00 a.m. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
