Mildred O. Lindstrand

Mildred Oradella “Millie” Lindstrand, age 95, of St. Peter, died Friday, June 2, 2017, at River’s Edge Hospital in St. Peter. 

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery in St. Peter.  Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or Benedictine Court Senior Living.  St. Peter Funeral Home handled the arrangements. 

Millie was born February 19, 1922, in North Star Township, rural Springfield, MN.  She was the daughter of Ben and Mary (Kersten) Mielke.  Millie was a graduate of Springfield High School and received her nurse’s training in New Ulm in 1943. 

Millie was united in marriage to Donald Lindstrand on June 23, 1945, in Springfield.  She was employed as a nurse in St. Peter for 33 years.  Millie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter where she was active in many church activities.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, gardening, and traveling.  Millie volunteered with the Red Cross, local Food Banks, Thrift Store, and Meals on Wheels. 

Millie is survived by her daughter, Randee (Dale) Roketa of International Falls; two granddaughters, Brigitt (Doug) Karsnia of Baxter and Kelsey (Joe) Haugo of Eden Prairie; three great-grandchildren, Sophie Karsnia, Axel and Wynn Haugo; two brothers, Al (Gladys) Mielke of Loveland, CO and Don (Pat) Mielke of St. Cloud; two sisters-in-law, Sherry Mielke of Woodbury and Elaine Forsberg of Winthrop; one brother-in-law, Bob Glimsdahl of Park Rapids; also nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald in 1998; two infant brothers; two brothers, Vince and Herb; and two sisters, Bernice Mullenbach and Gert Glimsdahl.
