Christie Kay Toenies

Christie Kay Toenies, age 50, died on May 3, 2017 in Henderson, Minnesota. Visitation will be on Friday, May 5 from 5-8 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary in North Mankato. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 11 a.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary with a visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or Caring Bridge.

Christie was born on June 23, 1966 to Donald and Marion (Josephs) Schierman in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from Minnetonka High School in 1982 and continued her education to earn a Bachelor of Information Technology (IT). She was a long-time employee of Avtex. Christie married Michael Toenies on June 13, 1998 in rural Alexandria, MN. Christie enjoyed reading, going to the family farm, driving with the windows down, and spending time with her beloved dog, Macy. She was an avid Minnesota Wild hockey fan. Those closest to Christie will forever remember her as beautiful, caring, selfless, spunky, and courageous. Family was most important to her.

Christie is left to be remembered by her husband, Michael; her children: Torrance Day, Michael (Beth) Toenies II, Torey (Landon) Bruegger, and Jenni DuFrane- daughter of her heart; grandson, Liam Bruegger; mother, Marion Schierman; siblings: Donn Schierman, Jeff (Patty) Schierman, Danny (Mollie) Schierman, and Kevin (Kelly) Schierman; mother-in-law, Audrey Toenies; sister-in-law, Kelly (Doug) Goodrich; God-mother, Kay Josephs; God-daughter, Rachel Schierman; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Christie was preceded in death by her father; father-in-law, Edmund Toenies; and brother, David Schierman.
