In retirement, he kept busy volunteering at the Thrift Store, watching Wheel of Fortune, playing cards (sheephead), watching the Twins, antiquing and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his smile, sense of humor, and being a sharp dressed man.

Joe will be deeply missed by his children: Phil, Peggy (Curt) Rude, Eileen Olsen, Coleen Flanders and Maggie (Bruce Peterson); grandchildren: Anna (Frank) Jacobs, Dylan Rude, Ashley Rude, Rebecca Olsen, Nicole Olsen, Hannah Flanders, Holly Flanders and Heidi Flanders; great grandson: Levi Benjamin Jacobs; sister, Bernice Weiland; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Pat in 2004 and son Matthew in 1976.

A special thank you to the staff at Benedictine Court for their loving care of Joe.
