Marion E. Veith, 95, of St. Peter passed away October 12, 2016 at Ecumen Prairie Hill in St. Peter.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, October 17, 2016 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 Sunday at the church as well as one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery, St. Peter. St. Peter Funeral Home – Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marion Eleanor Luella was born on Christmas Day, 1920 in New Sweden Township, Nicollet County to Andrew Edison and Florence Marion (Nygard) Hayer. She is a 1939 graduate of St. Peter High School. On June 28, 1941 she was united in marriage to Clarence Charles Veith. They made their home in St. Peter where they owned and operated Veith’s Bakery until retiring in 1998. Marion was a member of the Berea Circle and taught Sunday School at church, the American Legion Auxiliary, Nicollet County Extension and the Nicollet County Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing, music including playing piano and organ, traveling and especially being with family.

She is survived by her children; Dee Dee Michels and husband, Jim of St. Peter, and Ron Veith and wife, Deb of St. Peter; grandchildren, Paul (Dawn) Michels, Jason Michels, Benjamin (Krystal) Michels, Kara Veith, Ryan (Nicki) Veith, Madisen Veith, Emilie (Tyler) Kaus, and Daniel (Becca) Veith; many great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by husband Clarence in 2009; children: Chuck in 2001 and Rita in 1960; grandson, Matt Michels in 2003; and siblings: Violet Mae Vogt and Andrew Milton Hayer.
