Yvonne "Bonnie" Kaveney-Rients

Yvonne “Bonnie” Kaveney-Rients, age 73 of Kasota, died on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.

Memorial service is 11:00 am Saturday, June 25, 2016 at St. Peter Funeral Home with visitation at 10 am.

Bonnie was born to Warren and Hazel Westphal on November 4, 1942. She was married to John Kaveney on September 10, 1960 at the St. Peter Catholic Church. From 1971 to 2004, Bonnie was employed by Midwest Electric in Mankato. On October 3, 1997, she married Earl Rients. In her spare time, Bonnie enjoyed socializing over coffee, visiting family, and following Big Lou’s Band.

Bonnie is survived by her five children, Sherry Kaveney and Special friend Dave Schommer of Champlin MN, Theresa (Alan Crouch) Kaveney of Mapleton, John (Sue) Kaveney of Nicollet, Tom and Paul Kaveney of St. Peter; husband, Earl Reints of Kasota; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; step-children; step-grandchildren; siblings, Jean (Don) Kuhl of St. Peter, Earl (Margaret) Westphal of North Mankato, Dawn (Lyle) Orth of Liderwood, ND, David (Helen) Westphal of Owatonna, Tim (Jolene) Westphal of Cleveland, Evelyn (Randy) Culbert of Henderson, Doug (Debbie) Westphal of Belle Plain, Linda Westphal of San Diego, CA; brother-in-law, Joe Rybus; and special friend, Lorraine McAlister.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her first husband, Big Lou Kaveney; her parents, Warren and Hazel Westphal; sister, Karen Rybus; and brothers, Roger and Henry Westphal; Gene McAlister, husband of Lorraine McAlister; and grandson Matt Svihel.
