Charles Edward Regenscheid passed away on June 13, 2016 at Benedictine Living Center in St. Peter. He was born on January 22, 1927 in LeCenter to Joseph and Helen Moudry Regenscheid. He attended schools in Cleveland, St. Peter and Mankato.
He was the second youngest of 9 children. He and three brothers served in World War II. His service was in the European Theater. He was employed with Hallett Construction and later with Komatz Construction where he served as Vice President and Secretary. He married Betty Starbird on January 24, 1949 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Peter. He was a long standing member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by Betty, his wife of 67 years, son James (Mary) of Rochester, daughters Nancy (Norm) Lager and Linda (David) Witte both of St. Peter as well as four grandchildren, Carie (Eric) Weller of Mankato, Katie (Jeremy) Rubischko of Lakeville, Jesse (Carrie) Lager of St. Peter and Jamie (Jon) Bruemmer of Chanhassen.
Other survivors include nine great grandchildren and two sisters, Helen Pettis and Margaret (Jim) Miller both of St. Peter. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sister, their spouses and eight nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 15, at the Church of St. Peter from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. On Thursday, June 16, visitation will be held at 10:00 with a Rosary, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
