Willis Olson

Willis B. Olson, age 85 of St. Peter, died on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 7, 2015 at Norseland Lutheran Church with burial at the church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 pm Sunday at St. Peter Funeral Home and also one hour before the service at the church.

Willis was born on January 15, 1930 in New Sweden Township, Nicollet County to Ole and Nora (Olsen) Olson. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1951 and was honorable discharged in 1954. On May 5, 1956 he was united in marriage to Alice Ann Larsen. They made their home in St. Peter and Willis worked at the Standard Station for 10 years and later for the St. Peter Light and Water Department for 23 years before retiring. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling, fishing, hunting, and had traveled to all the states except Hawaii.

Willis is survived by his wife, Alice Ann, brother Clair and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Verne, Donald, Mahlon, and infant brother Kenneth.
