Donald Heier

Donald Heier, age 86 of St. Peter, died on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at River's Edge Hospital in St. Peter. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 13, 2015 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursday at St. Peter Funeral Home with a devotion for family and friends at 4:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Donald Elmer was born on October 4, 1929 in Mobridge SD to Jacob G. and Barbara (Lapp) Heier. He graduated high school in Blackfoot ID and enlisted in the US Navy in1950 and was honorably discharged in 1954. He married Martha Delzer on July 26, 1953 in Aberdeen SD and they later made their home in St. Peter where he was employed in electrical manufacturing at ADC, Alumacraft, WinCo, and then Johnson Controls. Don was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church and the St. Peter VFW and American Legion. Left to remember Don are his wife Martha; children: Duane (Anne), JoAnn, Gerald and Mark (Brenda); grandchildren: Aaron Heier, Kendra Jones, and Anna Heier; step grandchildren: Kelli Anderson, Karl Anderson, Kate Anderson, and Shawn Anderson ;and great grandchildren: Ezra Jones and Matthew Heier He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Marvin and a sister Barbara.
