Glen Schostag

Glen Schostag, age 84 of St. Peter, died on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minnsapolis. Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the famil with arrangements. Glen was born on March 17, 1931 in Mankato to Alfred and Lucy (Kastner) Schostag. He entered the US Navy in 1951 and was honorably disharged in 1955. In April of 1953, he was united in marriage to Rita Dressen in Arlington, MN. He was employed with Continental Can Company in Mankato for 39 years. He enjoyed woodworking, his grandchildren and his dog Peggy. Left to remember Geln are his wife of 62 years, Rita; children: Mark (Judy), Joel, Gail, Alan (Colleen), Jeanine (Brad) Zetah and Diane (Rick) Markiewicz; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Masko; sister-in-law Rosemary Dressen and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Olson.
