Ruth Wenner

Ruth Wenner, age 83 of Madison Lake, passed away peacefully to her heavenly home surrounded by family on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday July 1,2015 with a prayer service at 7:00pm at the church. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at 11:00 on Thursday. Memorials preferred to John Ireland School. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Ruth Marie was born on May 29, 1932 in St. Peter to Raymond and Rose (Huettl) Peterson. She attended John Ireland School and St. Peter High School. She was SPHS homecoming queen and graduated in 1950. On June 15, 1954 she was united in marriage to Donald Wenner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Peter. She worked in Petersons Rec Hall setting pins, for a short time at the movie theater in St Peter, MV Gas Company in St. Peter and later worked alongside Don on the farm. She was active with the church on the funeral committee, the choir and the Catholic Daughters. She also was a member of a Birthday Card Club and coffee group and spent years as the Superintendent of Flowers at the Nicollet County Fair. She enjoyed reading, games, cards, golfing, bowling, pool, camping, fishing, bingo, watching her grandchildren play sports and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed activities centered around her family. Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Donnie; children: Chris (Donald) Underwood, Connie (Mark) Bollum, Carol (Jeff) Knutson, Cathy (Bruce) Leonard and Chuck (Jill) Wenner; grandchildren: Ryan (Kristin) Underwood, Casey (Tim) Wussow, Luke (special friend Erin Connell) Bollum, Matthew (fiancé Sam Drees) Knutson, Blake (special friend Kayla Boswell) Leonard, Nate (special friend Shyanne Baynes Rodning) Wenner, Alex Wenner and Kendall Wenner; great granddaughter Lucy Wussow; sister Rita Weingartz and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was greeted in Heaven by her granddaughter Ashley Leonard.
