Robert Norman McGinn

Robert N. McGinn, age 77 of St. Peter, died on Friday, February 20, 2015 at his home. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the Church of The Nativity in Cleveland. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday at St. Peter Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church Tuesday. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Burnsville. In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation to the Church of the Nativity in Cleveland or to the Donor's choice. Robert Norman was born on October 29, 1937 in Omaha, Nebraska to Francis X. and Clara (Norman) McGinn. He graduated from De La Salle High School in 1955. On December 28, 1957 he was united in marriage to Doris Jones. He worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, retiring in 1986 after 30 years. He then worked for Geldner Construction and later Geldner Underground over the next 28 years. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Jacqueline (David Glubka), Jill (Brad), Joseph (Michelle), James, John (Stephanie Paloranta); and Loving Companion Margaret Warning; eight grandchildren; a brother, Francis (Eileen) and two sisters: Sharon (Ward) Jeffers and Ronnie (Doug) Madsen; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris in 1979, granddaughter Maxine and brother George.
