Jamacia Burns, age 91 of St. Peter, died on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Jesus Assembly of God in St. Peter with visitastion one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery, St. Peter. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Jamacia was born on December 25, 1923 in St. Peter to William and Josephine (Eyler) Burns. She graduated from St. Peter High School in 1943 and from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1947. Jamacia then received her Masters in Vocational Education and Audio-Visual Communications from University of Wisconsin Stout. She went into public education teaching English, physical education, librarian and directing class plays. She taught around Minnesota in Twin Valley, Minneota, Cannon Falls and Belle Plaine before finishing her career in Green Bay, Wisconsin as a librarian at Lombardi Jr. High School. Jamacia returned to St. Peter and her home on Front Street in 1975 to care for her mother. She was a member of Assembly of God Church/Jesus Church and former member of Four Square Gospel Church.
