Sharon Y. Rasche, age 72, of St. Peter, died on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Benedictine Living Community. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter with Rev. Trish Reedstrom officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Private family burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Sharon was born on July 29, 1942 in Paynesville, MN to Arnold and Elsie (Schadwinkel) Severson. Her family moved to St. Peter in 1950 and she graduated from St. Peter High School. Sharon received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Home Economics from Mankato State University. In August 1963, Sharon was united in marriage to Keith Rasche at Christ Chapel on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus. Sharon owned and operated the Country Caterer for 28 years. She was the "soup lady" and taught soup making through Community Education throughout southern Minnesota. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Sharon enjoyed playing bridge, cooking and league bowling. She was an antique collector and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sharon is survived by her daughter, Miki Atkins of Hastings and her former husband, Bill and their children, Elle and Elise Atkins; son, Michael Rasche of St. Peter; sister, Dianna (Dee Dee) McCormick of Menomonie, WI; sister-in-law, Carol (Roger) Krueger of Eagle Lake; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Keith in 1994.
