Signe G. Tungsvik

Signe G. Tungsvik, age 92, of St. Peter, MN died on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Benedictine Court, St Peter. Service is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Norseland Lutheran Church, rural St. Peter. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Norseland Lutheran Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Norseland Lutheran Cemetery. Signe was bom January 10, 1922 in St. Peter to August and Maria (Thorn) Gustafson of rural Oshawa Township, Nicollet County. She was baptized March 12, 1922 at the First Lutheran Church, St. Peter. She attended St. Peter Elementary and St. Peter High School graduating May 29, 1940. She married Floyd Tungsvik on September 20, 1947 at the First Lutheran Church, St. Peter. Prior to her marriage she worked as a Bookkeeper at the Nicollet County Bank, St. Peter and Johnson & C0., St. Peter. She lived her entire married life on the Lake Prairie Township Farm until March of 2013 when she and Floyd moved into the Benedictine Court, St. Peter. She was a member of the Norseland Lutheran Church Ladies Aid. Survivors include her husband, Floyd, of 67 years. Sons: Byron (Sandy) of North Mankato; Kevin and Orrin of Le Sueur; Daughters: Ronda (Randy) Schleeve of Le Sueur and Lorna (John) Luepke of Courtland. Grandchildren: Sarah (Luke) Novak; Nathan (Ashley) Schleeve, Darren Tungsvik, David Luepke and Kristen Luepke (Daniel Schroeder, ?ance); two great-granddaughters: Lauren Novak and Kennedy Schleeve; Sisters-in-laws, Fern Gustafson and Ruth Carlson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Maria Gustafson; Brothers: Rudolph Gustafson, Hilding Gustafson, Chester Gustafson, Frank in infancy; Sisters: Hilma Radke, Freda Evenson, Alma Nimps, Ruby Bateman and Hildegard Stenson. Memorials are preferred in lieu of ?owers to the Benedictine Court, St. Peter and the Norseland Lutheran Church, rural St. Peter. The St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
