Mary Antoinette Needham was born on February 27, 1940 in St. Paul to Thomas and Stella (Foncak) Needham. She graduated from Johnson H.S. She remained in St. Paul for another 45 years, where she worked at St. Joe's Hospital, the St. Paul Schools, Cassidy Inc., Kormann's grocery, and most importantly, as a Needham family caregiver. Mary contributed greatly to her East Side community as a member of the Payne Minnehaha Community Council (PMCC), East Side Neighborhood Development Council (ESNDC), District 5 Council, Lafayette Boosters, and the Railroad Island Council. In 1998 she moved to Le Sueur and in 2010 moved to Pheasants Ridge Assisted Living in St. Peter where she resided at her passing. For many people in these communities, Mary was a beacon of joy and caring, and always had a welcoming smile and fun story to share with those she encountered. Her spirit will remain with many!!!! She is survived by her daughter, Dawn of Anchorage AK; siblings: Dorothy (John) Luskey of Le Sueur, Mike (Carole) of Livingston TX and Dennis (Kitty) of Richmond MN; nieces and nephews: Bridget, Maude, Nora and Molly Luskey and Sam and Alex Needham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Stella, and brothers Thomas F. and James. Two Celebration of Life Memorials will be held: The first at St. Mary's Church in downtown St. Paul on Jan. 24th. Visitation at 9:00 am, service at 10:00 am followed by a luncheon. The second at Pheasants Ridge Assisted Living Facility in St. Peter on Jan. 31st at 2:00pm. Brightly colored clothing is encourage!!! In lieu of flowers or gifts, Mary requested donations be made to Twin Cities Public Television (tpt) in her name, as she loved their programming's and the numerous journeys they took her on.
