Barbara Jean (Erkel) Krohn

Barbara Jean (Erkel) Krohn, age 78 of St. Peter passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter. Barbara was born on March 23, 1936 to Elmer and Evelyn Erkel. She graduated from Mankato State College with a degree in nursing. She married Orville Krohn February 20, 1960. She worked her entire nursing career at the St. Peter State Hospital. She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family; especially her grandchildren. She is survived by daughters: Patty (Tom) Roessler of St. Peter and Debra (Keith) Behr of Davenport IA; grandchildren: Allison Roessler, Tommy Roessler and Abby (Steve) Edgar; great grandsons: Clay and Ty Roessler and Cooper Edgar; brother-in-law Marvin Mueller and sister-in-law Patty Erkel. She was preceded in death by her husband Orville in 1988; her parents; sister Laurel Mueller; and brother Richard Erkel. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 26, 2014 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter with burial at Greenhill Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the start of the service at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home ~Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
