Vivian Jean Mork, age 80, of St. Peter, died Thursday, December 4, 2014, at her residence. Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter, with Rev. Trish Reedstrom officiating. Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Monday at St. Peter Funeral Home - Klein Chapel, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church. Vivian was born September 25, 1934, in Freedom Township, Waseca County. She was the daughter of Glen and Evelyn (Steffen) Cheney. Vivian attended schools in Alma City, Pemberton, and Mapleton and was a 1953 graduate of St. Peter High School. She was united in marriage to Marlen "Ole" Mork on December 17, 1954, in St. Peter. Vivian was employed in food service at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter from 1973 to 1984. She operated a family day care in her home from 1985 to 2000. Vivian was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter, VFW Post 1220 Auxiliary, and the G.A.C. Golden Oldies. She enjoyed gardening, reading, watching the Vikings and Twins, and especially spending time with her grandchildren whom she was so proud of. Vivian is survived by her four children, Sharon Syx of Minneapolis, Karen (Jeff) Boser of Mound, Brian Mork of St. Peter, and Alan (Linda) Mork of St. Peter; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, and Kristina Syx, Kelsey, Lyndsey, and Bethany Mork, and Eric Boser; sister, Joyce Konradi of Worthington; brother, Charles (Sandra) Cheney of St. Peter; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marlen in 2000; son-in-law, Damon Syx; sisters, Gloria Brock, Mary Burger, and Glenda Sonnabend; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Theis.
