Rose Marie "Rosie" Burg
Rose Marie "Rosie" Burg, age 92 of St. Peter, died on Monday, May 27, 2013 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Church of St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating. Urn burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the start of the service at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
Rosie was born on April 22, 1921 in Shakopee to John and Rose Furst. She graduated from Shakopee High School and moved to St. Peter where she met Maurice Burg. They were married on October 26, 1948 at the Church of St. Peter. They farmed for 10 years before moving into St. Peter and she then worked for 25 years as the records librarian for the St. Peter Community Hospital. Rosie was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters in St. Peter and also was a volunteer at 3rd Street Seconds thrift store. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing cards with friends, doing jigsaw puzzles and reading. She also enjoyed watching her sons in athletics.
Left to cherish her memory is: her children Connie Strand and Chris Burg; grandchildren Sarah Strand and Dominic Burg; sisters Catherine and Margaret; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice, infant daughter Monica Rose and son Daniel Burg.
