Cynthia Diane (Lundeen) Johnson

d. September 3, 2012

Cynthia Diane (Lundeen) Johnson of St. Peter passed away Monday, September 03, 2012 at Rivers Edge Hospital in St. Peter.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Thursday, September 6 at First Lutheran Church in St. Peter with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church with Pastor Don Holmstrom officiating. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Cindy was born September 18, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN to Carl Robert (Bob) Lundeen and Lorraine (Stark) Lundeen. She graduated from Minneapolis Central High School in 1960, and attended Gustavus Adolphus College.

She was married on Feb 9, 1962 to Wayne Johnson at Calvary Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Through their 50 years of marriage they enjoyed camping, fishing, holidays, especially Christmas, and being surrounded by the love of their children and in recent years, their grandchildren.

Cindy held various positions over the years; First National Bank, St. Peter State Hospital, Central Elementary, and Grandview Nursing home, but found her career as a supervisor in the food service department at Gustavus Adolphus College to be the most rewarding. She loved seeing "her other kids" come in as freshman and grow as individuals. Often, these students return years later, greeting her with a hug, and keeping her updated on their lives.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 50 years; Wayne, children; Jim (Aimee) Johnson of St. Peter, Joy (Mark) McGrath of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Andrew, Mariah, and Matthew Johnson, Colin and Dominic McGrath. Siblings; Daniel (Karen) Lundeen, Larry (Barb) Lundeen, Beth Lundeen, Jill (Jeff) Nelson and Marsha Lundeen, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Bob and Lorraine Lundeen, parents-in-law Clifford and Alverna (Fischer) Johnson, grandson Benjamin, among other friends and relatives.
