Rose Mary Katherine White, age 83 of Saint Peter, died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Church of St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko and Fr. Harry Behan officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held from 4-7, Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Church of St. Peter with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Rose Mary Katherine was born May 22, 1927 in Madison, MN to William and Anna (Bormann) Kemen. She worked for the civil service in Chicago where she met her future husband. On March 23, 1949, Rosie was united in marriage to James "Jim" White at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center. They traveled extensively while Jim was in the military. They owned different businesses together over the years. Rosie also worked for Production Credit for 10 years. When she retired, Rosie continued being an extremely talented seamstress. She was well known for her skills in designing and making wedding dresses. Rosie was even voted "The Best Dress" for her dress she had made herself and wore to President Nixon's Inaugural Ball. Rosie was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Club and the Catholic Daughters. Rosie's passion in life was to serve others. She was an exceptional seamstress, cook, enjoyed dancing and loved to entertain. Rosie always looked her best with her beautiful red hair and well manicured nails.

Rosie is survived by her daughters: Kathryn (Lee) Marshall of Somerville, NJ, Suzanne Schulz of Minneapolis, MN, Cindy (David) Ekstam of St. Peter, MN, and Barbara (Jeff) Kubat of Grand Rapids, MN; nine grandchildren: Leeann (Jamie) Bartushak, Stanley Marshall, Jim Marshall, Ron Schulz, Alex Schulz, Simone Schulz, Emily Albrecht, Kaitlyn Kubat and Samantha Kubat; three great-grandchildren: Kaleb Schulz, Catherine Bartushak and Jake Bartushak; three brothers: and three sisters: Eugene (Sally) Kemen, Conrad (Jiggs) Kemen, Art Kemen, Sister Anna Louise Kemen, Barbara Kemen and Judith Kuwata; and many nieces and nephews.

Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, James F. White; parents; three brothers: Gerald and Kenneth Kemen and William Kemen Jr.; brother-in-law, Harry Kuwata; and very dear friend, Arnie Gregor.

Rosie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
