Henry "Bob" Mork Kretschmer, 94, of St. Peter, died August 22, at Grandview Good Samaritan.

Funeral service is Monday, 2:30 PM, August 27, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter, burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation on Monday one hour prior to services at the church. St. Peter Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

Henry graduated St. Peter High School in 1931, and attended Mankato Business College.

On August 23, 1940 he married Adeline Hein in St. Peter. He worked for MN Highway Dept from 1933 until 1944; operated a road grader for Nicollet Co Highway Dept from 1944 until 1977, and Lake Prairie Township from 1977 to 1989. Henry was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and served on its Board; was a Charter Member of the St. Peter Police Reserve; served on the Board of the Traverse de Sioux Cemetery; volunteered with the Red Cross; and was named Nicollet Co Fair Outstanding Senior Man in 1990. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Henry enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, hunting pheasants, refinishing and caning chairs, and visiting with relatives, neighbors, and friends. By 1999, Henry had suffered loss of vision in both eyes due to macular degeneration. In mid-2006, he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. With his wife Adeline, he moved from their St. Peter home to Grandview Good Samaritan, where he died of heart failure.

Preceding Henry in death were his mother Anna (n" Mork), father Henry Paul, sister Helen Kretchmer, daughter Donna Kretschmer, and many relatives and friends.

Surviving are his wife Adeline (n" Hein) Kretschmer; children Peg (Ken) Brinkman; Joyce (George) Merino; Tom (Sue) Kretschmer; Emily Kretschmer; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; beloved relatives; cherished friends. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or Grandview Health Care Center.
