George L. Trimbo (age 74) of St. Peter died August 22nd at his residence.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, August 27, 2007 at Union Presbyterian Church in St. Peter, burial in Greenhill Cemetery. Visitation on Sunday at St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM and continues on Monday one hour prior to services at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

George was born January 14, 1933 in Heron Lake, MN to Evan Trimbo and Mildred (Seleen) , Mildred died while George was a child and Evan then married Esther (McHarg). Graduated from St. Peter High School in 1951 and attended Mankato State University., while attending college he worked for the railroad. He was a veteran during the Korean War, serving in the US Army. In February of 1955 he married Bernice Rathai, they later divorced. George owned and operated several ventures during his lifetime. From 1955 till 1970 he owned the Texaco station in St. Peter; owned and operated Speedway Race Track in St. Peter, closing this one he built a new track in Fairmont. Owned and operated the RoBo Car Wash in St. Peter. George then began the Quality Farm Service selling nuts and bolts, this evolved into selling other farm tools, including pressure washers. He designed his own pressure washer and founded All America Pressure Washer.

George was involved in car racing, having served as a racing official at the Minnesota State Fair. He enjoyed traveling to car races; including Daytona, Knoxville, the Indy 500, and many other racing events. George liked to travel to Texas and Mexico in the winter months. He supported the Twins and was an avid Viking fan, being one of the original season ticket holders. He was proud of his collection of Cushman Scooters. George was a member of the American Legion, St. Peter Red Men and of the National Cushman Scooter Club.

Surviving are his children: daughter, Jo Ann Evenson; son, Bill Trimbo; son, Ron and his wife Laura Trimbo; son, Chuck and his wife Janet Trimbo; daughter, Dawn and her husband Patrick Murphy. His sister, Beth Evans. Six grandchildren: David Evenson, Paula Gatzke, Maria Carruthers, Tyler Trimbo, Nicole Trimbo and Michael Murphy. Two great grandsons: Santiago and Kayden Gatzke. His very special friend Mary Ann Holicky.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Esther and granddaughter Katie Gatzke.

In lieu of flowers family prefers memorials to: St. Peter Area Hospice, Union Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society.
