David "Sharkey" Joseph Dvorak, age 75 of St. Peter passed away at Life Care Hospital of South Texas in McAllen, Texas.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter with Rev. Eric Natwick officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Peter. Visitation will be from 4 " 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

David was born on July 24, 1934 in St. Peter, MN to Joseph and Maxine (Ludcke) Dvorak. He attended John Ireland and St. Peter High School. He served 4 years active service in the U.S. Navy. While in the service he was trained in engine mechanics. On July 24, 1954 he married Alice Easter Greene in Coventry, RI and was happily married for 39 " years, until the death of his wife. They were blessed with two children, Bradley and Deborah.

David worked for several local business as an auto mechanic, he owned his own semi-truck business, and after retiring enjoyed working for a local school busing company. His favorite thing to occupy his spare time was to tinker around fixing things; like old bikes for friends at his retirement community at Paradise Park in Pharr, TX.

David was a member of VFW and American Legion; and served for 34 years in the Naval and Army National Guards. He was interested in anything that had to do with airplanes; especially building model planes. David enjoyed spending time at Lake Miltona with his very special friend of 15 " years, they also enjoyed camping with their Good Sam's Camping Group and spending the winter months in the warm climate of Pharr, TX.

David was survived by his son Bradley Dvorak (Julie) and daughter Deborah Wenner (Brian) both of St. Peter, significant other Mary Jean Richter of St. Peter, brother William Dvorak (Maureen) of St. Peter, Andrew Dvorak (Linda) of St. Peter, grandchildren, Jennifer Dvorak, David Dvorak (Cody), Seth and Samuel Wenner; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, and grandchildren-in-laws, and great-grandchildren-in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice (Greene) Dvorak; parents, Maxine (Ludcke) and Joseph Dvorak; sisters, Karna (Dvorak) Frey; brother-in-law, Charles Frey; sister, Diane (Dvorak) Lind; sister, Josephine (Dvorak) Devick; brother-in-law, John Devick and nephew Michael Dvorak.
