Raoul Aubin

Raoul R. Aubin, age 85 of St. Peter died on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter.

Family services will be held at a later date. St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Raoul was born on July 13, 1925 in the Fond du Lac Reservation near Cloquet, MN to Raoul and Sadie (Karmon) Aubin. He was very proud of his heritage. He attended Irving Grade School and Denfeld High School both in Duluth. After high school, he served in the US Navy during WWII and Korea. He worked for the State Hospital in St. Peter as chief engineer and later as physical plant director. He also worked part time with the Nicollet County Sheriff's Office. On April 15, 1947 he was united in marriage to Clara Bell in Duluth. He later married Eleanor (Gould) Thompson on September 30, 2005. He was a member of the Kasota American Legion and the St. Peter VFW. Rauol enjoyed traveling, fixing and tinkering in the garage, feeding birds and going to casinos.

Raoul is survived by his wife, Eleanor of St. Peter; daughter, Eva (Dave) Klein of Kasota; two grandchildren: Darrel and Sarah; three great-grandchildren: Amber, Michael and Clara; Eleanor's children: Melvin (Jean) Thompson, Jared Thompson, Linda Thompson, and Corey (Debbi) Thompson; Her grandchildren: Angie (Zack), Nicholas (Alissa), Tara (Luke), Abraham, Jonas (Emily), Sophie, and Miles; her great-grandchildren: Hugo, Maeve, Taylen, Brynlee, Brogan, Soloman, Ayla and Gabby. "Grandpa Ray" will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife Clara in 1990, his parents and a sister, Elda.
