Shirley M. Jacobsen, age 83 of Mankato and formerly St. Peter, died on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Cottagewood in Mankato.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Church of Christ in Cleveland with a visitation one hour prior. A private burial will be at a later date at Greenhill Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Shirley Mae was born near Blakeley, MN to Conrad and Elmira (Karge) Johnson. She graduated from St. Peter High School and began working at Nicollet County Bank in St. Peter. She worked there for 45 years before retiring. She was united in marriage to Glenn Jacobsen in September of 1945 and they made their home in St. Peter. During her life she was an avid bowler and enjoyed summers on Lake Washington at the cabin.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister: Elaine (Kenneth) DeZeeuw; brother-in-law Floyd Boucher; sister-in-law Louise Johnson; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Glenn in 2006; brother, Harris in 2000; and sister, Audrey in November.
