Richard Genelin

Richard Genelin, age 79 of St. Peter, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with Fr. Todd Petersen officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the start of the service at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Dick was born on February 15, 1934 in St. Peter to Clem and Rosemary Genelin. He was united in marriage to Doris Lampl on July 27, 1954. They made their home in St. Peter and Dick worked for the Nicollet County Highway Department as a mechanic. He enjoyed the outdoors: hunting, fishing, camping and farming; and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Left to remember him are his daughters: Shelly (Bruce) Lurth and Bridget (Kim) Olson; three grandchildren: Jake, Crystal (Jeff), and Eric (Alica); five great grandchildren: Nataley, Emmett, Elliott, Max, and Jake; and sister-in-law Lorraine. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris in 2009 and a great granddaughter, Lily.
