Geraldine Zabel, age 75 of St. Peter, lost her battle with cancer on Friday, January 24, 2014 at her home, surrounded by family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 am on Friday January 31, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church in Kasota with Rev. Chris Conlin officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 until the start of the service at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Geraldine Mae was born on February 18, 1938 in Wells, MN to Albert and Evelyn (Bogue) Zoller. She graduated from Waldorf High School in 1955. She was united in marriage to Wayne Zabel on June 13, 1956 in Waldorf. Geraldine worked for ADC in Le Sueur for 22 " years. She was a member of First Presbyterian in Kasota and enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and grilling out and spending time with family.
Geraldine is survived by her children: Lois Richards of Prior Lake and her children Erin and Amy, Luanne (Jeff) Sanford of St. Peter and their children Jodi and Troy, Diane (Robert Thomas) Will of St. Peter and her son Josh, Gerri (Fred) Danner of Cleveland and their children Angela and Elizabeth, Steve (Lori) Zabel of St. Peter and their children Brandon and Brian, and Jim (Becky) Zabel of Apple Valley and their children Amber and Tanner; great grandchildren: Hailey, Ethan and Eric; sister: Mary (Shorty) Haus; brothers-in-law: Glen (Eileen) Zabel and Vern (Vicki) Zabel; sisters-in-law Donna McGregor, Rachel Zabel, Margaret Kennedy, and Janet Stradtman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wayne in 2000; grandson Justin; great granddaughter Michelle; and sister and brother-in-law Jean and Jim Dulas.
