Myrtle M. Carlson, age 97 of St. Peter, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the start of the service at the church. Burial will be in Parkers Prairie at a later date. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Myrtle was born on September 9, 1916 in Leaf Valley Township, Douglas County to Herman and Johanna Venzke. She was united in marriage to Laurence Carlson on June 22, 1938 in Otter Tail County. Myrtle and Laurence made their home in St. Peter and together ran the Grinden Variety Store for over 30 years. She also was a licensed daycare provider for 15 years and she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter.
Left to remember Myrtle are her son: Greg (Marianne) of Olathe, KS; grandsons: Michael and Mark; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence.
