Viginia June Pool, age 89, of St. Peter, MN and formerly of Spencer, IA, died Friday, May 9, 2014, at the Benedictine Living Community of St. Peter.
According to Virginia's wishes, a private family service will be held, with Rev. Vance Becker officiating. St. Peter Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Virginia was born in Mallard, IA, to Herman and Emma (Herbst) Buettner. She was a 1941 graduate of Mallard High School. Virginia later graduated with honors from Hamilton School of Business in Mason City, IA. Her professional career was devoted to working for various banking and government agencies. She retired from the Clay County Engineers Office in Spencer, IA. Virginia moved to North Mankato, MN, where she was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
Virginia will be deeply missed by her three children, Greg Pool of St. Peter, MN, Golden (DeEtte) Pool of North Mankato, MN, and Renee (Craig) Baumgartner of Port Charlotte, FL; two grandchildren, Trent (Megan) Pool of St. Peter, MN and Shannon Mitchell of Las Vegas, NV; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
