Thomas Lyle Wendelschafer, age 70, of St. Peter, died Tuesday, August 12, 2014 as the result of an automobile accident at the intersection of State Highway 22 and Co. 20.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church in Norseland with burial in Scandian Grove Lutheran Cemetery following the service. Thomas was born July 19, 1944 to Lyle and Myra (Wolfe) Wendelschafer in St. Peter, MN. He graduated from St. Peter High School. He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Pehrson on November 29, 1980 at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church in Norseland. Thomas was a lifetime farmer in Le Sueur County. He also raised beef cattle until 1997. Tom was an active member of Scandian Grove Lutheran Church where he enjoyed his church family. He enjoyed sporting events with Ryan, bowling, and spending time with his family. He was an active volunteer and always was quick to lend a helping hand.
Thomas is survived by his son, Ryan of St. Peter; two sisters, Rhonda (Daniel) Gapinski and Joyce Morrissette; sister-in-law, Hermine Berreau; niece, Hannah (Curt) Berreau; and nephew, Hans Berreau; and other relatives.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Jane on September 11, 2011; and brother-in-law, Oliver Pehrson Jr. on June 9, 2014.
