Kathryn Rae Warning, age 96 of St. Peter, died on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery, St. Peter. Memorials can be given to St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church. St. Peter Funeral Home ~ Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangement.
Kathryn was born on 11/11/17 in Montrose, SD, to Herman & Mary Kraut. She attended school in N. Mankato through the 10th grade. She has many fond memories of sharing her childhood with her 3 siblings. She moved to St. Peter graduating in 1935. Kathryn worked as a beautician before marrying Roy Warning on 7/30/1939. During WW2, Kathryn lived in San Diego, CA, and Charleston, SC, while Roy supported the war effort.
Kathryn devoted her life to God, her family, and her friends. She enjoyed nature and all it had to offer from flower gardening, to fishing, to a hike in the woods. She enjoyed sewing, entered her items in contests, and even won a few. She was also a great cook. It would be hard to beat the pies she made. Kathryn helped her husband Roy on their Mink Ranch. Kathryn was always available to help others, always! She had a kind soul.
Kathryn is survived by 3 children: Charles of W. VA., Linda (& husband Bruce Ellefson) of St. Peter, and Steve of St. Peter; 8 Grandchildren and 13 great grand children.
Kathryn is proceeded in death by her husband Roy Warning, son Kenneth (Butch) Warning, her parents and 3 siblings.
