Brian Bennett

Brian M. Bennett 47 formerly of St. Peter, Mn died Aug 19 in Ellsworth, Iowa on his way back to his teaching job at Monte Alto School District in Monte Alto, Texas.

Brian was born July 19 1967 in St. Peter, Minnesota to Michael and Charlotte (Stotz) Bennett. He graduated St. Peter High School in 1985 and Winona State in 1991. He served in the US Army in Germany with the 1st Infantry Division between high school and Winona State. He was a Minnesota National Guard ROTC member when he received his officers commission. He married his college sweetheart Renee (Rowland) Bennett in Chatfield, Minnesota in 1991. They moved to Weslaco, Texas to teach. Brain joined the Texas National Guard and retired at the rank of Major. Brian received his Masters Degree at the University of Texas Brownsville and became an Assistant Principal and a Commandant at a Junior ROTC school in Brownsville.

Brian is survived by his mother Charlotte Bennett, brothers Richard and Matthew Bennett of St. Peter. Sons Brandon and Brady Bennett of Harlingen, Texas. Nieces Trisha (Bennett) Ternes and Jenna Bennett. Nephew Patrick Yushta and Grand nephew William Ternes. Also many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his father Michael Bennett, grandparents, uncles Bill Frawley, John Bresnahan and cousin David Bresnahan.

A celebration of Brians life will be held Saturday September 13, 2014 from 1 - 4 PM at St. Peter Funeral Home (906 N. Washington, St. Peter, MN). Brian was laid to rest August 28, 2014 at Rio Grande Valley Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas.
