Charleen K. Rossow, age 65, of St. Peter, died on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter with visitation one hour prior to the service. Urn burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials preferred to the MS Society. St. Peter Funeral Home ~Klein Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
Charleen was born on June 1, 1949 in St. Peter to Arthur and Selma (Wills) Menk. She attended Trinity Lutheran School in Nicollet and graduated from Nicollet High School in 1967. She met Duane Rossow in St. Peter and they were united in marriage in 1970 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nicollet. They made their home in St. Peter and Charleen worked at Sugar and Spice Coffee Shop in St. Peter as well as at the State Hospital in dietary. She retired from dietary at the St. Peter Community Hospital in 1995. She was a Sunday school teacher at Trinity Lutheran in St. Peter and also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, serving as chaplain. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, baking, and word searches. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Duane; daughters: Heidi (Peter) Zimmermann and Heather (Scott) Curtis; grandchildren: Harry and Claudia Zimmermann and Miles and Emily Curtis; brother: Rolland (Eunice) Menk; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by a sister, LaDonna Thompson, earlier this year.
