Harriet Mae Schmidt, age 88 of St. Peter, died Sunday September 28, 2014 at Benedictine Health Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday October 4, 2014 at Immaculate Conception of Marysburg with Rev. Allan Paul Eilen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Harriet Schmidt was born March 21, 1926 to Earl and Agnes (Schaub) Zuel in Mankato. She graduated from Mankato High School and from St. Mary's in Rochester earning her RN nursing degree. She was united in marriage to Roy Francis Schmidt on June 2, 1948 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. Harriet was a homemaker for her family and proudly worked at St. Peter Community Hospital for 19 years as an RN.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Marysburg, the Catholic Daughters, and volunteered her time at Grandview Health Care Center in St. Peter. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, fishing, gardening, shopping, and traveling.
Harriet is survived by her four daughters, Kathleen (Paul) Romano of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Susan Caouette of Wagoner, OK, Kim (Craig) Drager of St. Peter, MN, Melanie (Keith) Frederick of Cleveland, MN; five grandchildren, Heather, Tess, Jenny, Ryan, Kristi; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy in 1988; infant daughter; and one sister.
