Ann L. Friederichs was born on November 8, 1947, in St. Peter to Bernice (Peterson) and Ogden Olmanson. She graduated from St. Peter High School in 1965 and attended St. Cloud State. On July 26, 1969, Ann married James Friederichs at Norseland Lutheran Church. The first three years of their marriage were spent in California while Jim served in the U.S. Air Force.
Ann enjoyed secretarial work over the years; she was employed at the Nicollet County Court House, Minnesota School Board Association, a newspaper in Sacramento, CA, 3M in St. Paul. Ann worked nearly 40 years at Gustavus Adolphus College and was awarded Employee of the Year in 1997. She retired in 2013.
Ann and Jim felt so blessed to return to the Olmanson family farm in 1975. Over the years they enjoyed having many draft horses and Labrador dogs. Ann also loved all sports, feeding birds, reading mystery novels, and getting together with friends.
Ann is survived by: husband Jim; sisters, Mary Brislance of Lutsen, Jean (Wayne) Andreen of Los Alamitos, CA; 7 nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews; sisters-in-law Sharlene of Minneapolis, Mary Ann of Eau Claire, WI; brother-in-law Larry of Gaylord;
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law Dave Brislance and John Friederichs, sister-in-law Rita Friederichs.
Memorials are preferred to the Humane Society, First Lutheran Church, or Gustavus Adolphus College.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29 at First Lutheran Church in St. Peter, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Norseland Lutheran Cemetery.
