Betty Jean Wood

Betty Jean Wood, age 80 of St. Peter, passed peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

Betty was born June 28, 1945 in Montevideo MN to Melvin and Alice (Ingebretson) Bergerson. She was united in marriage to Barry Lee Wood on September 14, 1963. They made their home in St. Peter where Betty worked for the St. Peter Wollen Mill for many years. She loved all animals (except snakes), knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, embroidery, quilting, and many other types of crafts. She also enjoyed puzzles, Christmas, and spending time with her family. She had a strong spirit and made a lasting impression on the lives she touched. She will be dearly missed by those she left behind. The lessons she taught and the love she gave will continue to live in our hearts forever.

Betty is survived by her husband of 61 years, Barry of St. Peter; children: Melody of St. Peter; Barry (Joan) of Champlin, John (Dorothy Knudsen) of Brooklyn Park; 4 grandchildren: Cody (Angela) Olstad, Lexi (Chris) Larson, Cory (Jess) Olstad, and Chelsea Wood; 6 great grandchildren; siblings: Kenny, Ronnie, and Cindy Bergerson; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Danny; sister, Judy; and brother, John.
