Brian Paul Fremo, age 58, succumbed to heart failure on December 12th, 2023.
An auto mechanic for nearly 40 years, he started his career at Dawson Oil and finished at Skrove Automotive. Brian Fremo could fix anything. He built garden benches from scrap wood, a grill pagoda from concrete blocks; he welded broken laundry baskets back together again, and he drove cars that most would call “antiques.” He fixed broken washing machines, tractors, and grills. He even fixed broken hearts. But he couldn't fix his own. He loved the Vikings, the Twins, and traveling with his family up north. He was a loving parent to three sons: Winston Taylor, Ellet Taylor, and Cyrus Fremo. He was most proud of teaching all three to drive. Active in local community service and politics, he served as City Councilman in Dawson, MN and completed two terms on Saint Peter's Recreation and Parks board. Graduating from Connecting Nicollet County in 2017 was one of his proudest moments. He was beloved by many family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Fremo and his father, Gerald Fremo. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Fremo and their sons Cyrus Fremo, Ellet Taylor and Winston Taylor, as well as his sister, Kathryn Fremo.
Private family burial will be held. A public visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at St. Peter Funeral Home, with a sharing of memories at 6:15pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to: Pioneer Power Association, Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo, or the City of St. Peter Parks and Recreation Department.
