Catherine Brandt Tietz, 96 of St. Peter, passed March 17, 2021.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00am Monday, March 22^nd at St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter with burial at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation is 2:00pm – 5:00pm Sunday at St. Peter Funeral Home and 9:00am Monday at Church. Memorials can be directed toward Mayo Clinic Health Hospice – Mankato. Catherine Mabel was born December 29, 1924 in Smiths Mill, MN to William and Clara (Hickel) Volk. She was raided near Madison Lake and attended schools in Marysburg and Cleveland.  On November 29, 1941 she married Wilbert Brandt. Together they raised 8 children while operating the family business: Kasota Wrecking Yard (later Brandt Auto). After Wilbert’s passing, she married Carl Tietz on January 20, 1973. Catherine was a member of the St. Peter Chamber of Commerce and enjoyed cooking, baking, making candy, fishing, camping, playing cards, sewing and casino trips.

Left to remember Catherine are her children: Betty Hale, Ernie (Bonnie) Brandt, Sharon Ternes, Nancy (Ron) Mealman, Patty Brandt, Dale Brandt, and Gail (Gary) Brandt Otero; 23 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; brothers: Robert (Carol) and Merle (Jane); other relatives and friends; and her dog, Molly.

She was preceded in death by husbands: Wilbert in 1972 and Carl in 2001; son Kevin in 2018; great granddaughter Brittany; step daughter Sandra Blekestad; sons-in-law: Leo Ternes and Gordy Hale; and brothers: Lawrence, Gerald, Dwayne and Frank.
