Clifford “Skip” Wenner, age 90, of rural St Peter, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Oak Terrace in North Mankato. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am on Monday, August 7, 2023 at the Church of St. Peter in St Peter. Visitation will be Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at the church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service. The service will be livestreamed by the St. Peter Funeral Home and available below.
Skip was born on May 11, 1933 to Wendell and Anna (Hiniker) Wenner in rural Mapleton and moved with his family at a young age to a farm in rural St Peter. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1951. He married Margaret Leonard on October 11, 1954. He devoted his life to his family, farming and service. He served on the Oshawa Township board, as Nicollet County Commissioner, several roles in his church and sang for many years in the church choir. He loved people, talking and singing.
Skip is survived by his eight children: Natalie (Nick) Hall of St. Paul and their children, Sharon, David (Suness), Loretta (Aaron) and Nicholas; Julie (Ed) Niebur of Hastings and their children, Leah (Alex), Maggie, Teresa (Spencer), and Rachel (Aaron); Gregg (Lori) Wenner of North Mankato and children Staci (Kyle) and Travis; Patty (Dan) Johnson of Woodbury and their children, Mitch (Marcie) and Matt; Gary Wenner of St. Peter; Bruce (Heidi) Wenner of St. Peter and their children, Marty (Lexi), Megan, Mackenzie (Nate) and Michael (Haley); Barb (Jeff) Holmin of Nicollet and their children, Kelly and Anna (Sam); and Colleen Wenner of St. Peter. Along with 11 great grandchildren and one due in January. Siblings: Clete Wenner, Ken (Phyllis) Wenner, Wendell Wenner Jr., and Donna (Paul) Zins; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; sister, Marianne Sohre; brothers, Gene, Don and Mert; and grandsons, Joseph Hall and Eddie Niebur Jr.
