Dale Anthony Betz

Dale Anthony Betz, age 69, of St. Peter, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 at River’s Edge Hospital after a 2-month battle with cancer.

Visitation will be held from 4-7pm, Friday, June 16, 2023 at St. Peter Funeral Home. To celebrate Dale’s life, please wear his favorite color, yellow, to the visitation. Memorial service will be 11am, Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter with visitation one hour prior. Dale was born March 19, 1954 in Primghar, IA to Robert and Velma (Aldred) Betz. He grew up and graduated from Fulda High School and later attended meat cutting school. Dale worked at the grocery store in St. James, meat market in La Salle, and packing house in Windom. Dale had worked at the plastic plant in Mankato for 32 years until retiring in 2020.

Dale was united in marriage to the love of his life, Gail Swenson, on August 1, 1987. They made their home in St. Peter. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, bird watching, dining at Red Lobster, playing the lottery, drinking coffee with friends at McDonalds, and annual trips with Gail to Campfire Bay in Motley.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Gail; nieces, Jeannie (Perry) Liebl and Jennifer (Craig) Hove; nephew, Jason (Nikki) Swenson; son, David (Kari) Betz; grandchildren, Wyatt, Elliott, Alissa, and Mariah; siblings, Nancy Poncin, Betty (Ralph) Waltz, Donna Betz, Susan Betz, Ron (Paula) Betz, Mike (Pat) Betz, Nick (Doris) Betz, Ed (Connie) Betz, and John (Diane) Betz; brother-in-law, Butch (Gail) Pavlacky; sister-in-law, Marilyn Wheeler; and many nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by many loved ones, including his brother, Steve Betz.
