Daniel Lee Rued, age 85 of St. Peter, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Services: 12:00 noon with visitation at 11:00am at the St Peter Community Center (600 S 5th St., St Peter, MN) Community Room #219 on April 18, 2026 followed by fellowship until 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Daniel was born in Oshkosh WI and raised in the Wild Rose/Wautoma Area by parents Kenneth E. and Myrtle (Cotton) Rued. After high school, he continued his education at the Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in Owatonna MN. His education continued at Central Seminary in Minneapolis receiving his Masters and Doctorate. He was united in marriage to Donna R. Goodwin on January 20, 1962 in Wildrose, WI. Daniel's passion was as a Baptist Minister; he took pride in his work helping people learn and grow on their spiritual journey. He also worked as a Christian contractor, building churches, parsonages, homes, and doing remodel work for the Christian community members. He was a member of the independent Baptist Church Fellowship Board. He participated in heart health and cancer studies through Mayo Clinic, helping many research groups in the process. He enjoyed all kinds of sport, especially the Green Bay Packers, and cherished time with his family.
Left to remember Daniel are his wife, Donna; children: Kenneth (Molle), John, Timothy (Daphne), and Joy (Mark) Kelley, grandchildren: Derrek (Heidi) Rued, Stephanie (Johnny) Haugh, Angela Bergquist, Anthony Rued, Alexander (fiancée Megan) Rued, James (Isabel) Kelley and Shayla Kelley; great-grandchildren: Mila Haugh and Jay Wermerskirchen; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his six siblings.
