Darlene Mae Hoffmann, 94, of Mankato, died March 20, 2023 at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.
Memorial service will be held 9:30 a.m., Friday, March 24, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of German Lake with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at German Lake Cemetery. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Darlene was born October 20, 1928 to Frederich and Helen (Zahorsky) Schulz in West Heron Lake Township, Jackson County, Minnesota. She graduated from Fairmont High School. On June 21, 1950, Darlene married Christ Hoffmann. Together they raised four children.
Darlene was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of German Lake, taught sunday school there, and enjoyed quilting. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards, Tile Rummy, dancing, entertaining family and friends, being at her home on German Lake, and was a caretaker for many family members through the years.
Darlene is survived by her children, Chris (Ginger), Jeff (Shelli), Patricia (John) Petersen, and Sheri (Randy) Benke; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Julie Schulz.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Christ; parents; and brother, Clarence “Bud” Schulz.
