David O. Knutson, age 75 of Mankato and formerly of Madelia and Kasota, passed away on February 29, 2020 at Oaklawn Heath Care Center in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 7, 2020 at St. Peter Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, St. Peter.
David was born to Ornell and Marian (Larson) Knutson in Faribault County. He was educated in Frost, MN before enlisting in the US Army, serving from 1962 until his discharge in 1965. He married Claudette Bluhm in 1968 and they were later divorced. He then enjoyed life with his companion, Marjorie Gerber. They resided in the St. Cloud area until returning to Southern MN in 1987. David had various jobs through the years, eventually retiring from Hiniker Co. in Mankato. He enjoyed reading, watching FOX News, working on his hobby farm in Kasota, fishing and working with his hands. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and family members.
Left to remember David are his children: Joseph (Lisa) of Madelia, Annette (Mark) Burg of St. Peter, and Roger of Madison Lake; Granddaughter Heather (Aaron) Kisor of Kasota; great granddaughter Emma Knutson of Kasota; step great grandsons: Jacob and Richard Shadley; brothers: Jonathan (Bernata) of Sauk Rapids and Michael (Barbara) of Marcus Iowa; three nieces, one nephew and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger.
