David Patrick Mines

David Patrick Mines of St. Peter, MN passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026 from complications of COPD. He was 71 years old.

David was born March 13, 1955 and grew up in the township of Traverse, just west of St. Peter. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the US Marines, serving four years. HE roamed the United States as a truck driver for many years, retiring from Viessmann Trucking.

In the late 1990s, Dave took a break from trucking and moved to Hatteras Island in North Carolina for a couple of years; teaching windsurfing on the side, while living the dream in the “Summer of Dave”! He often talked about his time there with fond memories.

David enjoyed riding his BMW bike, windsurfing, and playing golf. He loved music, video games, and was a pretty good pool shot!

David was preceded in death by his father, John; mother, Della; brothers: Chuck, Jim, and Dan; and sister Mary. He is survived by brothers: Terry, and Steve; and many nieces and nephews.

Per David’s request, no public services will be held.
